Your Montana engagement session should feel like a joyful, laid-back adventure—not a stiff, overly posed photoshoot. As a Montana engagement photographer, my approach focuses on natural movement, genuine connection, and candid moments that feel true to who you are as a couple.
Instead of worrying about “perfect poses,” I guide you with fun, easy prompts that encourage you to move, laugh, and interact naturally. Think of me as your professional third wheel—there to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.
Choosing the right location for your engagement photos in Montana makes all the difference. Whether it’s a scenic overlook in Glacier National Park, a quiet riverside spot in Missoula, or a rugged trail in the Bitterroot Valley, your surroundings should reflect your relationship and sense of adventure. Pair that with dreamy golden-hour light, and the magic happens naturally.
Beyond the backdrop, the best engagement sessions are about being present and embracing the moment. Bringing personal elements—like your pup, a cozy blanket, or even a celebratory champagne pop—helps turn your Montana engagement session into an experience, not just a photoshoot.
An engagement session can also be the perfect time to schedule your bridal makeup trial if you’re working with a professional makeup artist. It’s a low-pressure way to see how your makeup photographs in natural light, get comfortable in your look, and make any adjustments before the wedding day. Plus, feeling extra polished often gives couples an added boost of confidence—which always shows up beautifully in photos.
More than anything, your engagement session should feel like a memory in the making—filled with laughter, connection, and moments you’ll want to relive again and again.

Most engagement sessions last between 60 and 120 minutes, giving us plenty of time to move, explore, chat, and capture natural moments without ever feeling rushed. Two hours typically include two locations and two outfits, which I cover in my engagement session guide once we make things official.
You’re not alone—and that’s totally okay, because me too! Most couples feel this way at first. My job is to help you relax, have fun, and forget the camera is even there. You never have to wonder what to do—I’ve got you covered.
Definitely. Bringing your pup! After all, they’re your family and most likely a part of your love story!
Anywhere that feels meaningful to you—whether that’s Glacier National Park, Missoula, a scenic trail in the Bitterroot Valley, or anywhere beyond that. I’m always happy to help you choose the perfect location with my location guide or a good Google Maps search!
